Kira Kolby Christensen
ATTORNEY, ASSOCIATE PARTNER
Kira provides assistance primarily to trade unions and federations, but also to a number of companies and other organisations with their GDPR compliance. She furthermore assists with GDPR in connection with transactions (M&A).
The specific role and organisation of trade unions, together with the complex regulation and fundamental principle of the GDPR, continuously raise a number of questions of interpretation and delimitation of the legal framework the unions need to work within, which – in combination with her past at the Danish Data Protection Agency and parallel experience with due diligence on several major transactions – have given Kira strong qualifications and experience with GDPR and data protection rules.
Before Kira Kolby Christensen began working as a lawyer in 2011, she worked for more than 10 years with, among other things, personal data law at the Danish Data Protection Agency and with legal proceedings and litigation at the Danish Courts Administration and as an assistant judge in the Supreme Court.
The combination of her many years as a lawyer and her previous work in the courts has also given Kira a wealth of experience and knowledge in legal proceedings, litigation and case management in general.
Kira has a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court and is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional in EU Law (CIPP/E). Both certifications were obtained after training courses approved by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
