QUALIFICATIONS
Michael has been working in the field of construction law since 2009, first at the Legal Adviser to the Danish Government (Kammeradvokaten) and now as a partner at SIRIUS advokater.
Michael has advised on construction law and construction disputes from all sides of the table –developers, advisors and contractors alike. Today, Michael’s primary focus is on contractors and the unique challenges and issues that a building project presents to a contractor.
Michael always seeks to achieve the best outcome for the client – through close dialogue with the client and understanding of the client’s cost level.
The best outcome for the client is not always a long-term and resource-demanding arbitration, which is why Michael’s ambition is to have disputes settled amicably. However, some disputes require a tough approach.
Michael assists both in the contract negotiation phase and in the contract conclusion phase, with ongoing advice and discussions during all phases of the construction process, including in connection with the submission of tenders in a procurement or tender process, as well as counselling and conduct of legal proceedings and arbitrations, participation in expert appraisal, expert proceedings, etc.
Michael has extensive experience in commercial lease law and tenancy law. This includes, for instance, matters relating to the conclusion of leases, market rent regulation, defects in leases and disputes in connection with the vacating of the lease.
In addition, Michael has conducted several cases relating to environmental and public law matters and the liability of public authorities. Michael also has extensive experience in advising on procurement law and conducting appeals before the Complaints Board for Public Procurement (”Klagenævnet for Udbud”).
